Opus One is a Napa Green certified estate according to the rules put in place by the Napa Valley Vintners organization and we implement more than a hundred favorable and protective procedures for the environment. One of the works is the balance between power and technique, structure and texture. A remarkable wine for the year, the 2017 Opus One is a dense, full-throttle beauty. The 5 traditional grape varieties of Bordeaux-Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petite Verdeaux-have drawn rich and strong flavors from these atypical terroirs, offering excellent craftsmanship and ultimate wine know-how. The 2017 Opus One, bottled in July 2019, is a blend of 81 Cabernet. The vines are carefully pruned into a fence. The 40 hectares of Block Q and Block K are part of the famous terroir of To-Kalon, this deep and gravelly soil, rich in alluvial layers and well drained, makes it an ideal terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard consists of 4 plots: block Q and block K, River and Ballestra. Opus One is a partnership founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, France, and renowned Napa Valley vintner, Robert Mondavi.
